Hi friends,
It’s finally warming up a little, and my new pup Ruthie and I have been exploring every street around us on daily (okay, practically hourly) walks. I had started to feel fatigued with my daily walking routine, which was feeling like the most tedious requirement of my pandemic mental health care, so I appreciate the opportunity to re-experience the world anew. Walking around the world and taking a closer look at the plants and the land (because Ruthie would like to eat everything on the ground, especially rocks) gave me extra appreciation to this story about pathways to getting Native land back.
I was also particularly moved this week by 100 visions of motherhood, as well as responses to this beautiful question: “What would Mother’s Day look like in a liberated future, where we have freed ourselves from patriarchy, white supremacy and colonization?” I also appreciated these reflections on child-free women and considerations of connecting reproductive justice and climate justice.
Class change alert! My second dose is on Monday, so I’m cancelling my Tuesday class and teaching an intermediate at noon on Thursday. See you on the mat!
